REDUCE THE NEED FOR HUMAN PRESENCE

IT IS ABOUT INCREASING EFFICIENCY AND SAVING RESOURCES!

Our mission is to provide increased efficiency, reduced use of resources and sustainable economic activity by decreasing human presence, increasing system integration, and emphasizing decision-making based on information, rather than tradition.

Our vision is to be a player in the global market through cooperation with industrial enterprises that have identified automation and digitalization as tools for further development of their competitive advantage.

Our long-term goal is to participate in the development process for autonomous solutions that can seamlessly integrate into a cooperative environment of other machines and human operators. For these reasons are we fighting for standardized and open technologies to provide our customers the greatest possible degree of flexibility and freedom. For these same reasons we oppose the proprietary solutions and vendor lock-ins that prevail in the field of industrial automation.

Industrial automation is our business

Industrial automation is the use of control systems and information technologies for handling different processes and machineries in any industry to replace or reduce human presence and involvement. The Internet provides opportunities for secure communication between devices, equipment, processes and humans, expanding the possibilities dramatically.

We make machineries intelligent to remove human presence

Based on solid understanding of mechanical processes, we build complete solutions for remote control and monitoring of processing facilities and any kind of machinery. To enable data exchange on status & condition and to send and receive commands, the machinery must be equipped with instruments and sensors. These electronics communicate with an industrial controller (PLC) that contains software for data interpretation and preset actions & reactions according to the data received. The industrial controller in turn communicates with a standalone PC running the HMI & SCADA software that allows the operator to control, monitor and report on the process. With utilization of all these possibilities, the machinery is transformed from an operator dependent device into a robot.

Future proof

Our use of standardized and open technologies means that customers have complete freedom to make independent future choices. Use of the data exchange standard OPC UA means that data can be securely exchanged within machines, between machines, and from machines to smart systems. All participants speak the same language, the communication is trusted, and data is converted into knowledge.

The mark-up language HTML5 is used for structuring and presenting content on any device, anywhere, through to the internet. Given access and security clearance, the systems can be operated from anywhere on any device that supports a web browser. The atvise® HMI & SCADA are built on OPC UA stacks and are developed with pure web standards only.

The only requirement for performing control, monitoring and reporting is thus access to a web browser. No external plug-ins are needed.

We have developed function blocks based on an IEC standard, and HMI pictures & graphics are developed based on the principles of an ISO standard. Our alarm management system is based on requirements and recommendations of an ISA standard.

In other words, our solutions are standardized throughout!
This provides full opportunities for integration with other systems, up-and-down scaling, utilizing data for machine learning, gathering Big Data for analysis, etc.

All our remote control system safeguard considerations for:

OPEN TECHNOLOGIES  •  FLEXIBILITY AND FREEDOM •  SCALABILITY •  INTEGRATION  •  SPEED  •  INTERNET CONNECTIVITY  •  FUTURE-PROOF

OUR CUSTOMERS
ARE CHASING IMPROVEMENTS

Our customers are characterized by the fact that their activities can achieve improvements by utilizing the opportunities the internet in combination with sensors and instruments can provide for remotely control, monitoring and data exchange.

They are also characterized by the fact that they prefer:
 • Simple and profitable, rather than large and complex
 • Open and standardized solutions instead of
    customized and proprietary
 • Remote operation above local presence
 • Predictable EOL over scheduled maintenance

These are present across various industries:
 • Oil & gas
 • Infrastructure
 • Food processing
 • Aquaculture
 • Agriculture

History
in brief

Our core team members were present when the first PLC was installed in Norway in 1972. Since then, we have mainly kept our focus in the oil & gas industry, building up a great understanding for processes and operations. We are continually looking for developments and solutions that creates synergies through simplification. We have provided control systems and services to more than 150 plants and all of these solutions are based on standardized and open technologies.

1st of January 2021 we changed our name from Offshore Systems AS to Ecco it AS.

Certifications and approvals

The management system of ecco it is by DNV GL considered to satisfy the Quality Management Standard ISO 9001:2015.

We are registered with EPIM JQS which is a supplier register and a service for pre-qualification of suppliers used by purchasers in the Norwegian oil and gas sector.
Our EPIM Customer ID is 1328.

To contribute to maintaining and developing automation discipline, we are a member of the Information office for electrical dicipline and are approved as a training company

We will seek to be classified as a “green list” company through the EU classification system for sustainable economic activity (newly formed).
