REDUCE THE NEED FOR HUMAN PRESENCE
Who we are and why us
Our mission is to provide increased efficiency, reduced use of resources and sustainable economic activity through less human presence, increased system integration and decision-making based on facts.
Our vision is to be a player in the global market through cooperation with customers who are among the best in their business. We will make industry processes and machines autonomous and accommodating.
Industrial automation is our business
Industrial automation is the use of control systems and information technologies for handling different processes and machineries in an industry to replace or reduce human presence. By involving the Internet the opportunities for secure communication between devices, equipment, processes and humans, expands dramatically.
It is about increasing efficiency and saving resources!
Our mission is to contribute to increased efficiency and reduced use of resources through reduced presence, increased integration and decision making based on facts. We are fighting for standardized and open technologies to provide our customers the greatest possible degree of flexibility and freedom. And the opposite; we fight against proprietary solutions and vendor lock-in.
We make machineries intelligent to remove human presence
Based on solid understanding of mechanical processes, we prepare complete solutions for remote regulations and controls of processing facilities and any other kind of machinery. To be able to tell about its status and receive commands, the machinery must be equipped with instruments and sensors. These instruments and sensors communicate with a industrial controller (PLC) that contains software for interpreting and acting in relation to received data. The industrial controller further communicates with a PC set up with HMI (human machine interface) software which allows the operator to control, monitor and report.
With utilization of all the possibilities, the machinery is transformed from an operator dependent device into a robot.
By involving the Internet, control, monitoring and reporting can take place from anywhere. To provide increased decision making and to contribute to learning, real time process data is also available from anywhere.
Our use of standardized and open technologies means that customers have complete freedom to make independent future choices. Use of the data exchange standard OPC UA means that data can be securely exchanged within machines, between machines, and from machines to smart systems. All participants speak the same language, the communicatiom is trusted and data is converted into knowledge. The markup language HTML5 is used for structuring and presenting content on the internet, and the system can be run anywhere in the world on any device that supports a web browser. Atvise HMI & SCADA is based on OPC UA and is developed with web-standards.
The only requirement for performing control, monitoring and reporting is thus access to a web browser (no requirements for plug-ins).
Furthermore we have developed function blocks based on a IEC standard, and HMI pictures are prepared based on the principles of a ISO standard. Our alarm management system is based on requirements and recommendations of a ISA standard. In other words; standardized solutions throughout!
This provides full opportunities for integration with other systems, up-and-down scaling, utilizing data for machine learning, gathering Big Data for analysis, etc.
All our remote control system safeguard considerations for:
OPEN TECHNOLOGIES • FLEXIBILITY AND FREEDOM • SCALABILITY • INTEGRATION • SPEED • INTERNET CONNECTIVITY • FUTURE-PROOF
Our team includes people who participated when the first PLC was installed in Norway in 1972. Since then we have mainly been involved with the oil & gas industry, and a large amount of process understanding has been aquired. We are continually looking for developments and solutions that creating synergies through simplification. We have provided control systems and services to more than 150 plants and all of these solutions are based on standardized and open technologies.
1st of January 2021 we changed name from Offshore Systems AS to Ecco it AS.
